What the hell is a Tiger Punch?

It's the opening track on the upcoming release from Hibria. Not exactly know for their complex lyrics, Hibria delivers and in your face metal disc..... just keep your snickering to a minimum when he actually says "Tiger Punch."

It's in the box player to the right.

Criss Oliva

This was taken from the Rocket Club here in Tampa in the early 90s..... mmmm... good times. Hope you enjoy listening to criss oliva as much as I did/do!!

Charon - Little Angel

Some more of my favorite Goth rock stuff..

Genitorturers - Velvet Dreams

Velvet Dreams

This is a blast from the past..... Genitorturers is an industrial/metal/sex band from Orlando. I went to a show back in 93-94 and it was everything they say it is..... bondage, piercing... crazy stuff..... I remember, quite vividly, the singer piercing a mans scrotum with a hammer and nail on the final beat of the final song.... I was in love!!! Just kidding...she was/is pretty hot.

The link above takes you to the page with the song on it or you can hear it in higher quality in the player on the top right of this page. Enjoy!

New Gothminister - The Darkside

I am new to these guys.... This is just bad ass.... The album is great as well.... though I could do without the cover of Micheal Jackson's "Thriller."

Dawn of Destiny - Angel Without Wings

This is for you double bass junkies.... you know you are!! This is great power metal with female vox. All the songs on this album are really awesome (boy, I sound like a 14 year old girl). Not all the songs are double bass speed fests...some have some good crunch...some slower, sappy parts and some growlies thrown in here and there.... definitely worth checking out.

The Start of my Gothic Rock/Metal Obsession

I stumbled across To Die For back in 2000 reading a now defunct webzine that did reviews etc. There were 2 song samples for each review (and boy...did it take FOREVER to download) and one of those songs were To Die For's "All Eternity" A few hundred albums later (5 from To Die For) the obsession is still strong! The deep, emotional vocals.... the simple yet catch melodies... the 80s vibe.... love it all. Here are 2 older videos for you to enjoy in case you never have heard..

To Die For - In the Heat of the Night

To Die For - All Eternity

Song of the Day: Paragon - Hellgore

This is the opening track of the new Paragon disc, Screenslaves. For those that do no know, Paragon is a long running German True/Power Metal band. I have always been a fan of these guys. Their singer is an acquired taste....similar to Chris from Grave Digger perhaps but with his own distinct sound. Give it a shot.....

Mood song of the week : The Smithereens - Blood And Roses

Love, love, love this song...yeah, I know it is old...from the 80s even... but it is an awesome song and fitting in many ways. If you have never heard it...give it a shot. You should at least love the bass line!

Song of the Day : Squealer - Martyrs of the Half Moon

Martyrs of the Half Moon

I have been a fan of Squealer since The Prophecy came out in 2000. I even got to see them on my one trip to Wacken in the same year. They play a mixture of Power metal and Thrash. The album they released this year, "The Circle Shuts", is one of my favorites of 2008. Will definitely be in my Top 10!

The release date is January 23, 2009.

Tracklist The 13th Floor:

01. The Path to Decay
02. Lost in Life
03. The Mind Maelstrom
04. The Seventh Summer
05. Beyond Life’s Scenery
06. The Lucid Door
07. Led Astray
08. Winterborn 77
09. Sirens of the Seven Seas

Song of the Day : Sturm und Drang - Break Away

This is the new video for the single off their new release "Rock n Roll Children." Not bad....a bunch of 16-17 year old kids putting out their second album.. bunch of slackers!!

In all seriousness, this is an awesome melodic/power metal album.

Song of the Day : Asperity - Pray

Asperity's "The Final Demand" is a horribly overlooked melodic metal album. Chock full of melodies, both musically and vocally... with catchy choruses. Songs range from a few double bass tracks to some more 'brooding', but not really in a sense of Sentenced or anything.

Check the song and then you can check the rest..... you won't be disappointed!! UPDATED... you can now get the whole song.

Song of the Day : Crystal Eyes - Fighting

I have always been a fan of this band. I remember when I first heard their debut "World of Black and Silver." I was house sitting for a friend (Dee) and this was in a stack of new CDs he just got. Nothing fancy or overwhelming....just some good Metal!!!

This is a track off their new disc 'Chained'

Song of the Day : Sequester - Apocalyptic Smile

This is a one man project...that's right...One man performs plays all the instruments and does all the vocals....and it's not Black Metal!!

Here is the official blurb of Sequester.

Sequester is a one-man Metal project founded by Ryan Boc in 2005. All of the music thus far has been written and performed by Boc, having drawn inspiration from various genres of music including heavy and thrash metal, progressive and psychedelic rock, grunge, blues, jazz, and classical.

Sequester’s sound has been described as being both expressive and melodic, especially in the vocal and guitar sections as a result of harmonized layering. The lyrics range anywhere from personal topics to fantasy literature, and are generally sung with a clean voice– often with thrashy, more aggressive overtones.

Song of the Day : Incrave - Shades of Me

Shades of Me

I've been a little moody and this song by Incrave sure fits the bill. One of my favorite discs of 2008, for sure. Formerly called Evergrace, Incrave's sound is along the lines of Nocturnal Rites and the like but not quite as happy. Just great music by these young Swedes!!!

BTW, the link only has ten downloads...let me know if it runs out before you get a chance to hear it!

Can't you see, The pain inside of me
Tried it all, but no one hears my call
I'm all alone

Can't you hear, I'm screaming out in fear
I've sacrificed it all, I've rolled the dice
I'm all alone

How much more can I stand

Will I stay alive, I'm running out of time
See me as I am, The world is falling down on me
I'm so afraid, Can you save me from my own?

Inmoria Coming Soon!!!

Song(s) of the Day : Moonville

Today's song is from a band I just stumbled upon a few weeks ago. The band is called Moonville. in 2006, they released their only (I believe) full length album "Silver Screen.: It is your basic melodic power metal album but it is done well....along the lines of Supreme Majesty.

My favorite song is called Strange Letters. Listen here.

The second song of the day is another by is their 'most listened' song on so ..... here ya go.

See you soon......

Song of the Day : Evergrey - Torn

This is the title track off the new Evergrey album "Torn". Evergrey delivers their best album, IMHO, since "The Dark Discovery." Full of deep, dark lyrics and solid songs, it is their best from beginning to end. The only 'drawback' is there is no blockbuster type song that is far above the rest, but all are very solid songs.
